Music Nft's will hit the industry so hard, both the music industry and the crypto space. And i mean reaally hard, it will change how we listen music completely.
Okay all of this writing is how i perceive the future ahead of us, it may or may not happen. But as i see from my perspective, it should happen in an ideal world.
Current State of the Music Industry
So the music industry today has lots of problems. And artists are not happy. The biggest issue on the industry is, in most cases artists are struggling to hold their rights on their music. Its mostly goes like this, artist makes a deal with some company to distribute their music, and that company holds the rights on the music. Or artist want to stay independent but still have to use the biggest "centerelized" platforms to distribute the music.
So even if they want to stay independent, there is just couple of big platforms which have all the listeners, and they decide how much a play should cost. If they decide to decrease the price of a "listen", again artist has no saying on this decision.
What is The Solution
In an ideal world, again this is sorely my perspective, people should be able to listen first and then decide if they want to "buying" it, as how we do this on visual nft's. What do i mean by "buying" here? So it could mean lots of things, just as how its happening on visual nft's. Artist should be able to decide which way they want to monetize their art. But, with this twist; "Listener should be able to listen the music before they pay for anything!". Just like what is happening with all these visual nft's, everyone can see the art, right! Without paying for it or owning it. You all know how we can screenshot them :)
Seeing or listening should not be payable by itself, as they are just our two senses and they work as getting some input from the outside of our body and give that input to our brain, so seeing and listening is basically the same thing with different color.
So this is my open call to builders, lets build some nft player that shows all the nfts with music metadata on the chain(or chains).
